Spam that has been removed from your inbox is now viewable for up to seven days. Log into the web interface at http://imail.digiweb.net.nz and you will see a new subfolder listed on the main interface (probably below your "Mail", "Sent" and "Deleted") called "Junk". This is where all spam is automatically placed. You can therefore check for legitimate email (often called "False-Positives") that may have been deleted as spam in this folder.
Whilst we do not anticipate any false-positives (legitimate email being tagged as spam), this feature allows you added protection just in case.
If you find a legitimate message, simply select the message, click the "Move/Copy" button from the toolbar, and select the "Inbox" option from the drop down menu and click Move. Your POP3/IMAP4 email program will automatically download this message. You may also wish to whitelist this email address by following the steps outlined below.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to download these spam messages via POP3 you can easily configure your email program with these settings:
So if your email address was roger@roger.com, then to download your spam, your login would be roger-junk@roger.com
NOTE: any spam messages left in your junk folder will be automatically deleted by our system after seven days. Once these messages are deleted they can NOT be retrieved.
If you find that the spam filter is blocking mail from a legitimate address, you can 'whitelist' the address which tells the mail server to always deliver mail from this sender. To accomplish this, simply log into your web interface at http://imail1.digiweb.net.nz. The Username field is your email address, and the password is your current email password.
Once you are logged in, select the "Contacts" button from the bottom left of your screen. From the "Contacts" folder click the New button from the top of the window, fill in the First Name, Last Name, and Email Address fields (and any others you want to include) then click Save and Close button. Once this email address is added, the Digiweb spam filtering service will always deliver messages from this address to your inbox. You can edit/remove these addresses at anytime.
You can also whitelist an entire domain name, so that anything from that domain name will be received. To implement this, simply use an asterisk as the domain name prefix e.g. *@roger.com.
Please note that when whitelisting an email address or domain name this will be effective for all users on your domain name.
Any addresses that you have added to your whitelist or blacklist are updated hourly.
This is the opposite of the whitelisting above, and will automatically place emails from a certain email address or domain name into your "Junk" folder so that it is not downloaded by default. This would be useful in a situation where a particular sender managed to avoid our spam filter. To black list an email address place an exclamation mark in front of the address and save it in your address book as normal e.g. !roger@roger.com. To blacklist all senders from a particular domain name you would use: !*@roger.com.
Again, this is effective for all users on your domain name.
Any addresses that you have added to your whitelist or blacklist are updated hourly.
If your email address is roger@roger.com, and you configure a forward to another email address on your domain name e.g. susan@roger.com, then any messages marked as spam will end up in susan-Junk@roger.com, and not the original recipients junk folder.
If you have created an alias such as roger.johns@roger.com that forwards to roger@roger.com, spam will end up in roger-Junk@roger.com.
If you have created a user such as roger.johns@roger.com that forwards off to a thirdparty email address e.g. roger@isp.com, ALL email (spam included) will be forwarded off to that address by default. There are three options we can provide to alleviate this for you:
